Kinesiology (M.S.)
The M.S. in Kinesiology will give you the professional preparation you need to develop, administer, and implement broad-based programs in your chosen area of interest.
The program is intended to prepare researchers and practitioners; therefore, the 36-hour program provides thesis and non-thesis options. Courses will be offered primarily in the evening with some courses during the day.
The Master of Science in Kinesiology offers concentrations in three areas of study:
Exercise and Sport Science
In the Exercise & Sport Science concentration, you will learn advanced information about the physiological effects of exercise and sport performance. Take advantage of this preparation in a career where you work directly with clients or perform research.
Health Promotion & Wellness
The master’s degree with a Health Promotion and Wellness concentration equips you for a career focused on helping others manage their health through interaction and education. With your degree, you can choose to engage in management roles, or work directly on the front lines of the struggle to increase the health of our population.
Recreation and Sport Management
Earn your master’s degree with a Recreation and Sport Management concentration to gain managerial-level career opportunities in community recreation, venue management and athletic departments. We will supply you with the tools to market and promote sport activities, to be an advocate for community recreation, and to become a leader in the sports community.
