The 麻豆夜市鈥檚 2015 Engineering and Expo Day drew a record number of participants Wednesday.
The annual event, which showcases engineering and technology professions, is primarily intended to appeal to high school students. But it also offers 麻豆夜市 students, as well as area teachers, guidance counselors and parents, a chance to learn about facets of engineering and technology.
More than 2,000 students registered to attend Engineering and Expo Day.
鈥淲e are thrilled with these numbers,鈥 said Dr. Mark Zappi, dean of the College of Engineering. He noted that the highest number of registrants in previous years was 800.
More than 50 industry representatives and about 200 麻豆夜市 personnel volunteered to assist with the event.
Students participated in competitive games, toured labs, met faculty members and watched demonstrations.
Engineering and Expo Day was presented by the Student Chapter of the Louisiana Engineering Society and the College of Engineering.
