“I decided to pursue my graduate at 鶹ҹ because it provided me the opportunity to learn from world-class professors and conduct my research at a renowned institution,” he said.
His research experience in the computer science Ph.D. program confirms 鶹ҹ’s R1 designation.
He said, “As a graduate student at 鶹ҹ, I have had the privilege of being a part of a dynamic and collaborative research environment. 鶹ҹ is well-known for its research, and this is evident in the numerous opportunities available to graduate students like me. The research project I have worked on includes the application of Machine Learning techniques in healthcare.”
Clement is currently the president of the (GSO) and advocates for students from all levels of society. He believes in helping the community around him succeed on and off campus.
“I have had great experiences in and outside the classroom. One of my favorites thus far has been the numerous opportunities to get involved in student organizations and to give back to the community through events like ”
Supporting graduate students with career pathways is a key factor for graduate programs at 鶹ҹ.
“The faculty at 鶹ҹ has been of tremendous support for my career. I have received career advice, presentations from companies, and referrals to on-campus resources like the Office of Career Services and the Office of International Affairs to adequately address any challenges I might face at any time,” Clement said.
He is also a member of the (BSU).
Clement said, “BSU is important at 鶹ҹ because it supports the academic development of minority students and facilitates social interaction of these students with the faculty and staff in the University.”
When asked about what words of encouragement he would give prospective graduate students, Clement shared.
“The graduate program at 鶹ҹ has numerous benefits such as student-centered teaching methods, excellent research opportunities, affordability, and a vibrant and diverse student community. Our esteemed professors are committed to providing support and guidance to help students succeed. Additionally, there are fellowships, graduate teaching/research assistantships, and financial aid options to help make studying at 鶹ҹ affordable.”
